About the Campaign

My Giving Helps: The MGH Fund + United Way employee campaign celebrates a long-standing culture of philanthropy at our hospital and reaffirms our commitment to improving the health and well-being of our patients and our community.

While one-time gifts are accepted year-round, the campaign officially ramps up in September, when employees also can elect to donate through payroll deduction. Leading up to and throughout the campaign, a number of fun events and activities will be held to thank current donors and encourage new ones. Learn more about upcoming events or volunteer for the campaign.

Employees can choose to make their gift to the MGH Fund, United Way or both. Gifts to the MGH Fund, an unrestricted fund used at the careful discretion of hospital leadership, support promising research and clinical initiatives. There is no corner of the hospital or clinical specialty that the MGH Fund has not touched. Some areas that have received funding directly benefit employees, such as the Ambulatory Practice of the Future and the Be Fit program. Learn more about how your gift to the MGH Fund helps.

Gifts to United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley support more than 170 organizations in and around Boston that provide crucial services for children, youth and families in need, some of whom may be our very own patients or colleagues. Employees can choose to make their donation to one of United Way’s top priorities or direct it to a specific agency. Each of these agencies is evaluated annually by United Way, which does the legwork to ensure its organizations are reputable and reliable while keeping administrative costs at half the level recommended by the Better Business Bureau. We are grateful for the generosity of the thousands of Mass General employees who made the 2015 My Giving Helps campaign a success. We hope that you will continue to support the world-class care and biomedical advancements for which Mass General is known, as well as the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
